Mount Meru

Mount Meru rises just behind Arusha and, at 4,566m, is Tanzania’s second-highest mountain. It’s a genuinely demanding climb — steep, exposed ridge walking with real drops — and widely used as an acclimatization warm-up before Kilimanjaro, though it stands on its own as a rewarding summit.
